Tips
- Why it works
- Break crispbread into pieces so they soften faster in kefir and don’t float awkwardly in the glass.
- Substitutions
- Use yogurt instead of kefir if you prefer a thicker texture; swap crispbread for whole-grain crackers.
- Common mistakes
- If crispbread stays hard after 5 minutes, it’s too dry. Soak it longer or use softer bread.
- Storing and reheating
- Eat fresh; kefir sours and crispbread loses crispness after 1 day in the fridge.
- Serve with
- Pair with sliced cucumber or a spoonful of jam for a balanced snack.
In short
- A child's portion for ages 1–3; suitable from 12 months. For younger kids, halve it and purée.
