Method
Preparation: mix flour, yeast, sugar and salt with 80 ml warm water and vegetable oil; knead the dough and leave to proof for 40 minutes.
Preparation: roll the dough out to a thickness of about 0.5 cm on a baking sheet; evenly spread the dough across the surface and lightly brush it with tomato5 paste.
Preparation: lay ham3 on the dough in an even layer, distributing the pieces across the whole area.
Preparation: spread mozzarella4 evenly over the ham3 so every area is covered with cheese.
Preparation: sprinkle fresh7 basil or greens to taste; if desired, you can lightly pepper.
Bake: preheat the oven to 240°C; bake at high heat for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
Serve: remove from the oven, cut into portions and serve hot with greens.
Make-ahead tip: the dough can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge for up to a day; if desired, replace the ham3 with another ready-made meat or vegetable layer during preparation.
