Method
Fill a large pot with 2–3 L of water, set it over high heat and bring to a boil; salt the water with a pinch of salt; wash and dry the cucumber4.
Bring the water to a boil on high heat and add the pasta1; cook over medium heat for about 8 minutes to al dente, stirring every 4 minutes; drain the pasta after cooking.
Return the pasta1 to an empty pot, add butter3 and grated cheese; stir over low heat 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and a smooth creamy mass forms.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, stir for another minute over low heat; the mass should become balanced.
Wash and dry the cucumber4.
Cut the cucumber4 into 1 cm batons.
Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a plate and arrange the cucumber4 sticks beside it.
Serve the dish immediately; you can also keep the cucumbers4 chilled for contrast.
