Ingredients
- 1 Short-grain ricepack 800 g ≈ $2.16 70 g
- 2 Canned tunapack 170 g ≈ $1.80 70 g
- 3 Mayonnaise 15 g
- 4 Soy sauce 8 ml
- 5 Nori seaweed 3 g
- 6 Sesame seeds 3 g
- 7 Salt 1 g
Grey rows are pantry staples: salt, oil, spices. They are not counted in the serving price.
Method
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, add 160 ml water, bring to a boil, and cook covered for 15 minutes over low heat.
Remove the rice from the heat, leave covered for 10 minutes, then season lightly with salt and let cool until warm.
Mash the tuna with a fork and mix with the mayonnaise and soy sauce to make a thick filling.
Wet your hands with water, place some rice on your palm, add the filling, and cover with more rice.
Shape into 2–3 firm triangles, wrap with strips of nori, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Tips
- Why it works
- Substitutions
- Common mistakes
- Storing and reheating
- Serve with
